NORTH HALEDON, N.J. – Nicholas J. Veenstra, a resident of North Haledon, died Saturday, June 11. He was 65.
Born in Paterson, he grew up in Glen Rock and lived in North Haledon the past 38 years. He was owner and president of Glen Rock Stair Corp. in Franklin Lakes. He attended and was actively involved at Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park.
He is survived by his wife J. Lynn; children Sharon and Mike Atema, Nick and Kara Veenstra and Laura and Paul Severino; grandchildren Olivia, Ashlyn, Paul, Austin and James; brother James and Lois Veenstra; sisters Kathy and Allan Jeltema, Nancy and Mike McDonald, Marjorie Kuperus, and Bette and Paul Brinkerhoff; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Charles Kuperus.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Goodwin Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will be private at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jacksonville Chapel, 264 Jacksonville Road, Lincoln Park.
