Joseph E. Frederick, 85, Paterson Native

PATERSON, N.J. -- Paterson native Joseph E. Frederick passed away on Nov. 6 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 85.

Frederick resided in Linden for many years before moving to Woodbridge.

He was awarded his Bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University in West Orange and his Master's degree from Kean University in Union. Frederick worked an elementary school teacher in Linden and belonged to B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #324 in New Brunswick.

Frederick was predeceased by a granddaughter, Katy, in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Anna Roudenko Frederick; two daughters, Susan Frederick of Fort Myers, Fla. and Monica Frederick of Newport Beach, Calif.; a son, David Frederick, of Tuckerton; two brothers, Ronald Frederick of Hawthorne and Eugene Frederick of Baltimore, Md.; and three grandchildren, Matthew, Laura and Karen.

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home  44 Green St. at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects to the Frederick family prior to the service beginning at 6 p.m.

The family would appreciate contributions to Haven Hospice 65 James Street, Edison, NJ, 08820 in lieu of flowers.
