PROSPECT PARK, N.J. -- John A. VanLenten, a resident of Prospect Park, died Thursday, Jan. 21. He was 64.
He started his career as an auto mechanic for VanBuiten Auto Supply in Prospect Park and later pursued his love of carpentry. He also was a firefighter for Prospect Park and in addition a member of the Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, serving as deacon and usher.
He is survived by his Linda; son Michael and daughter Tracy; grandchildren Nathaniel VanLenten and Marissa and Joshua Baron. He also is survived by his mother Johanna VanLenten, sister Beverley VanLenten and sister-in-laws Bets Hulford, Eileen Pantoliano and Barbara Greydanus.
He was predeceased by his father Harold VanLenten, his father- and mother-in-law Samuel and Madeline Greydanus and his brother-in-law James Greydanus.A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 530 Sicomac Ave., Wyckoff.
