Described as a kind and caring soul, Michael had many passions in life, the greatest undoubtedly being his young son, Andrew, his obituary says.

Michael was also remembered as having an incredible sense of humor and an “eternally positive spirit” who was “always quick with a joke, even during difficult times.”

Michael’s other hobbies included music, video games, and playing poker with his many friends.

In addition to his beloved son, Michael leaves behind his wife, Leslye; his parents, William and Deborah; his brothers, Ryan and Christopher; and several extended family members.

Meanwhile, more than $25,500 had been raised on a GoFundMe for Michael’s memorial expenses.

“Mike was one of a kind,” reads one of several comments on the campaign. “A good attitude towards life and always happy…Mike will always be remembered for his sweet smile and love for his family.”

Michael’s funeral was held at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals in Toms River on Sunday, June 26.
