SWAT Standoff In Saddle River: Here's What We Know

A tense standoff that drew a heavy police presence to a Saddle River neighborhood was resolved in just over one hour on Thursday, April 17, with one person transported to New Bridge Medical Center, according to initial reports.

The incident began earlier that afternoon at a home on Glenwood Drive, where law enforcement converged just after 2:15 p.m. The street was shut down as SWAT teams and emergency vehicles surrounded the home.

Radio transmissions indicated that two other individuals may have been inside the home with a third person who had barricaded themselves. The exact circumstances remain unclear, but the incident is not believed to be criminal in nature, sources said.
