Teaneck Students Stage Holiday Food Drive

TEANECK, N.J. -- Students and families of Benjamin Franklin Middle School are collecting non-perishable food items through Nov. 24 to support those who are in need during the upcoming holiday season.

Homeroom teachers will be collecting bagged or boxed items on a daily basis during the drive. The homeroom that brings in the most food will win a pizza party.

All items will be donated to the Center of Food Action in Englewood on Nov. 24.

Urgently needed items:

  • peanut butter and jelly;
  • canned meat;
  • canned tuna;
  • macaroni and cheese;
  • rice;
  • beans;
  • soups;
  • pasta;
  • cereal;
  • spaghetti sauce;
  • canned fruits and vegetables;
  • diapers (size 3 to 6);
  • infant formula;
  • baby food;
  • dental hygiene products;
  • 100% juice.
