Alexis Mercedes, 32, also had illegal body vest along with the drugs and guns when he and Katherine Castillo, 24, were busted by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad on Tuesday, Acting Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.

The pair had been dealing from The Alexander apartment building off River Road, the prosecutor said.

Both had “provided fictitious and/or fraudulent identification in order to establish residency,” he said.

Detectives searched the apartment, as well as two vehicles owned by the pair, Calo added.

Both remained held Thursday in the Bergen County Jail pending court action on various charges, including possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of a handgun, illegal possession of a body vest, money laundering, false impersonation and forgery.
