SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Barbara A. Tortorete, of Saddle Brook, died Thursday, Aug. 25. She was 72.
Born and raised in Union City, she resided in Saddle Brook the past 46 years. She was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church in Saddle Brook. An avid craftswoman and traveler, she enjoyed reading, cooking, golden retrievers and was a big fan of Elvis Presley.
Prior to retiring in 2013, she was employed in the accounting department at Total Comp Inc. in Fair Lawn for 25 years.
She was the mother of Lisa Tortorete and fiancée Chris Hawkins; companion of Rudy Kolaci; former spouse of James Tortorete; sister of Leonard Dietz and wife Bruna; aunt of Michele Hogan and husband Jimmy, Jeff Dietz and wife Linda, Brian Tortorete and wife Ali and Lauren Tortorete and companion Mike Temple; and former sister-in-law of Mary Tortorete and late husband Robert.
A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
