Covid-19: Warren County High School Goes Fully Remote After Reaching High-Risk Status

The switch was made for Hackettstown High School students in grades 8 through 12 after New Jersey’s North West Region was classified at the orange level indicator for COVID-19 cases, district Superintendent David Mango said in a letter.

Students in pre-k through 7th grade will continue a hybrid learning model prior to Thanksgiving break and return for remote classes starting Monday, Nov. 30 through Friday, Dec. 11, Mango said.

Meanwhile, Mango says the district will continue to work remotely past Dec. 11 if the region stays at orange status or is reclassified under very high-risk (red) status.

“My office implores our school community to prepare now as if the district will be closed for an extended period of time,” he said.

Staff members can also teach from home as long as they have the proper equipment, Mango said.

As of Nov. 18, 267 COVID-19 cases were reported in Hackettstown.
