ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Elmwood Park's The Art of Self Defense is hosting a free Haunted Dojo Spooktacular on Saturday, Oct. 29.
The afternoon will feature free pumpkin painting and is sponsored by Elisa Del Verme, a realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
"As another small business owner, I wanted to help out," Del Verme told Daily Voice, "and get to know more families in town and participate in community events.
"And the studio setup is great, it seemed like it would be a lot of fun."
The event will run from noon to 3 p.m., at the dojo, 15 Wallace St., Elmwood Park.
The dojo is also having a grand opening this Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. That free event will feature a ribbon-cutting at 10:45 a.m., a free yoga class at 11:15, a free martial arts and self-defense class at noon, and a free fitness class at 1 p.m.
There will also be face-painting, balloon characters, refreshments and raffles.
For more info on the studio, visit its website or Facebook page, or call 201-497-0114.
