EXCLUSIVE: A 28-year-old East Rutherford woman whose body was found this morning in a Lyndhurst motel was the apparent victim of a drug overdose, police said.
Police were called around 11:15 a.m. to the Winslow Motor Hotel on Rutherford Avenue, off eastbound Route 3, after a housekeeper found the woman’s body, Police Chief James O’Connor said.
She checked in on Friday and then extended the stay yesterday, he said.
There were no immediate signs of foul play, but the investigation was continuing, O’Connor said.
CLIFFVIEW PILOT is withholding the woman’s identity out of consideration for her family.
