Mount Kisco Man Charged With Driving With Suspended License In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a 53-year-old resident of Mount Kisco with operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license.

The arrest was made when an officer conducting speed enforcement on Hanover Street stopped a vehicle allegedly exceeding the posted speed limit on Thursday at approximately 9:47 a.m., police report.

A routine license check at the scene showed that the license of the driver, identified as Mark S. Britton, was suspended for failure to pay child support, according to officials.

Britton was arrested at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters; he was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, an unclassified misdemeanor, and exceeding the maximum speed limit, a traffic violation, police report.

Following processing, the defendant was issued a traffic summons in relation to the charges and released on his own recognizance, according to officials.

He is scheduled to answer the allegations against him in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, July 14, police report.
