Thomas Straus, 44, who was carrying cash when he went missing on Friday, "may have hopped on a bus in Hackensack and wound up in a facility where he was previously housed many years ago," Capt. Patrick Feliciano told Daily Voice.

Rutherford Police Sgt. Kevin Scannell contacted the 14th Precinct in Philadelphia, which dispatched Officer Alfonzo Brown to the Spears Personal Care Home on West Harvey Street in the Germantown section, where Straus was located around 1 p.m. Tuesday, the captain said.

Straus, who'd contacted his brother, hadn't been heard from since he failed to get on a bus back to Rutherford from CBH Care on Salem Street in Hackensack, Feliciano said.

Once he receives medical clearance, Straus will be returned home, he said.
