BEYOND BERGEN: A 67-year-old upstate New York man was killed when he was struck by a commuter bus at the Port Authority terminal in midtown Manhattan last night.
The Garrison, NY (Putnam County) man was killed by the Toms River-bound bus on the third level of the terminal, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo confirmed.
No passengers were aboard the bus at the time, he said.
There were extensive delays at the terminal as a result and passengers were being urged to seek alternative travel methods. NJ Transit trains were cross-honoring ticket holders.
