RUTHERFORD, N.J.– The Rutherford Public Library reopened Monday morning after several months of construction.
"We’re now the first wireless library in Bergen County," Library Board of Trustee President Rose Inguanti told Daily Voice. "We also extended the WiFi to the front of the building."
The first floor is going to be the primary face of the library, Inguanti added.
As part of the approximately $250,000 renovation, new ADA bathrooms were installed, along with new carpeting, new furniture and a computer lab expected to open later this week or next.
Software upgrades were also made.
"As things move to downloading and streaming, we’re positioning ourselves so that we have that capability," Inguanti said. "We really tried to make it so that the data systems are updated and can be improved as things change. It's pretty exciting."
The library is located at 150 Park Avenue.
