Walfred Santizo-Simon, of East Rutherford, was arrested on Monday, May 12, following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Rutherford Police Department, Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Police were first contacted Monday regarding an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile in Rutherford, according to Musella. Detectives determined that Santizo-Simon sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in Rutherford on May 12, and that he also sexually assaulted and endangered the same victim in Fairview on Feb. 1, the prosecutor said.
Santizo-Simon was arrested in Rutherford and charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail, where he remains pending his first court appearance in Hackensack, officials said.
