Soccer Star Abby Wambach Readies For Ridgewood Book Signing

RIDGEWOOD, N. J. -- Soccer great Abby Wambach, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and member of the 2015 World Cup Championship team, is making an appearance Sept. 15 at Bookends Bookstore in Ridgewood to sign copies of her new book, "Forward: A Memoir."

Wambach is scheduled to sign copies from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Bookends, 211 E. Ridgewood Ave. Anyone wanting an autograph at Bookends must buy a copy of her book, which is due to be released Sept. 13 by Dey Street Books.

The 240-page book chronicles her beginnings in soccer and her rise as a world-class athlete. The book shows her struggle with all the different roles in her life, and her drive as a competitor, according to goodreads.com.

Wambach, who is retired, became the highest goal scorer at age 35 during the 2015 World Cub run.
