Port Chester High School Students Perform In NY Music Festival

PORT CHESTER, N. Y. -- Eight students from Port Chester High School, which serves parts of Port Chester and Rye Brook, performed in the annual New York State School Music Association's Area All-State Music Festival Nov. 10 at Purchase College in Harrison.

Vocalists Gisella McCallion, soprano; Taylor Masi, alto; and Robert Perrone, tenor; performed with the Area All-State Mixed Choir. Also, Elizabeth Montemurro, soprano; and Isabella Rios, alto; were chosen to sing with the Area All-State Women’s Choir. 

For the Area All-State Band, William Brakewood played trumpet; Derrick Torres played tuba; and Cameron Gutierrez played snare drum. The performances were held at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.

Port Chester teachers who work with the students are Linda Ventura with the vocalists and Robert Vitti as band director. 

The Area All-State Festival is made up of students from throughout Westchester County who were selected after a spring audition at the New York State School Music Association's Solo Evaluation Festival, officials said. Students prepared for the overall performance with three rehearsals.
