Reward Offered For Info In Fatal Daylight Attack Of 63-Year-Old Irvington Man

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Thursday released surveillance video images of three people (see attached photos) being sought in connection with the murder of an Irvington man March 13.

Samuel V. Gbotoe, 63, was walking down Isabella Avenue near University Place in Irvington when he was attacked by a group of men and women. Gbotoe, a security guard at Newark Liberty International Airport, died June 8 from blunt-force trauma injuries suffered in the attack. 

Surveillance video was located which depicts the victim being assaulted by several suspects who were last seen running away north on Columbia Avenue, the prosecutor's office said. 

The Essex County Sheriff's Crimestoppers program is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to arrests and convictions in the attack.
