Crew members on the eastbound 1134 train saw him "lying across adjacent tracks" north of Glen Avenue around 10:30 p.m., NJ Transit's Jennifer Nelson told Daily Voice.
"They went to investigate and discovered that he was dead," she said.
"We don't know what train hit him. We don't know when," Nelson said about a half-hour later. She couldn't immediately confirm a report by Daily Voice sources that a suicide note was found.The man wasn't from Ridgewood.
Service was temporarily suspended and later restored before 11:30 p.m.
