Virginia Mulry, 72, Of Ridgewood

RIGEWOOD, N.J. -- Virginia Mulry, of Ridgewood, died Nov. 4. She was 72.

She was born Nov. 10, 1944. 

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ridgewood for 42 years. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in Brooklyn in 1962, she joined Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., where she met her husband, Patrick. 

Mulry later worked at Footstar and retired in 2011. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, as well as traveling to Manchester, Vt. in the fall and the New Jersey shore in the summer. She loved to read, especially murder mysteries, and she was an excellent Jeopardy player. She also enjoyed watching sports, and her favorite teams were the Brooklyn Dodgers and later the New York Mets. 

She is survived by her husband, Patrick; children, Christine and her husband Keith Harrigan, Thomas and his wife Margaret “Meg” Mulry and Alexander Mulry and his partner Jessica Derry, and grandchildren, Christian and Bridget Mulry. 

She was predeceased by her mother, Gertrude Alexander; and brother, William Alexander III. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 1 Passaic St., Ridgewood, followed by interment in Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes. Visiting hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood. 

The Mulry family greatly appreciated the attentive care provided to her by the compassionate staff at Villa Marie Claire, and suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to Villa Marie Claire, 12 West Saddle River Road, Saddle River, NJ 07458.
