RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Ridgewood resident Norman Joseph Delaney -- affectionately known by his grandchildren and friends as "Storm" -- died on Friday, March 11. He was 85.
An Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, Delaney began his professional career with Western Electric. In the late 1960's, he joined the Hibbert Company as an executive vice president of sales. For 30 years, he was president of Del Graphic.
Delaney was a member of the Stablehands and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. "Storm loved life and his beloved and beleaguered Giants and Yankees," information from the funeral home noted, "but the joy of his life was family.
He is survived by his wife, Jo (McGrath) Delaney; children Bob, Jim, Jeanne, Lynne and Doug; grandchildren of Caitlin, Tyler, Megan, Sara, Jack, Michael, Joey, Cole, Dylan, Jake, Sam and Paige; and great-grandchildren Charlotte, Emaline and James.
Delalney was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Delaney and Elizabeth Burch Delaney.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., in Ridgewood. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in Ridgewood.
