RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Martin Srodin, 99, of Ridgewood, died Thursday, Sept. 3.
Srodin worked as an experimental machinist for Bendix in Teterboro for many years until his retirement, after which he continued working for Harley Machine in Bogota.
He was active with Boy Scout Troop 5 and Explorer Post 5, both in Ridgewood. He participated with the Ridgewood-Glen Rock Council of the Boy Scouts and was a recipient of the Order of the Arrow and the Silver Beaver Award.
His wife, Estelle, died in 1989. He also was predeceased by a son, Martin Srodin Jr., a daughter, Carol; and a grandson, Martin D. Srodin.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Srodin and his wife, Sharon; a daughter-in-law, Barbara; his grandchildren, Diane, Larissa Sandra and Victoria; and his great-grandchildren, Katarina, Aubrey, Natalia, Abigail and Melanie.
Burial was at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
