RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Hervey E. Blumers, a resident of Ridgewood, died Sunday, Feb. 7. He was 75.
Blumers, after graduation of Franklin & Marshall College in 1962, he served in the 78th Division of the Army Reserves. He worked in various roles in the computer field including jobs at ITT’s Marlow Pumps and ITT’s Defense Communications Division, where he served as information center manager. His last job was with DeWitt & Associates ,where he helped the blind and visually impaired with assistive computer technologies.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his son, John and wife Marcy of Mendham, N.J.; his daughter, Susan Shermock and husband Kenneth of Columbia Md.; his grandchildren Jonathan and Samuel Blumers and Gregory and Katherine Shermock; and his brother, John Randall Blumers of Franklin Park
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19 at 2 p.m. at the West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 S. Monroe St., Ridgewood.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Side Presbyterian Church Building Fund are suggested.
