Meltemi Opens In Ridgewood, Replacing It’s Greek To Me After 30 Years

Meltemi Greek Restaurant has officially opened its doors in Ridgewood, taking over the space formerly occupied by It’s Greek to Me, owned by  Mayor Paul Vagianos.

Located at 21 E Ridgewood Ave., the restaurant opened in February.

Meltemi’s menu is packed with Greek classics and Mediterranean twists, including traditional dips like Skordalia (potato, garlic, olive oil), Tyrokafteri (spicy feta cheese and fire-roasted red pepper), and Tzatziki (Greek yogurt, cucumber, and garlic), all priced at $9.95.

For those craving something heartier, Meltemi offers gyro and souvlaki pitas ($13.50), grilled vegetable pitas ($12.95), and full platters with hand-cut fries and tzatziki ($27.95). Seafood lovers can indulge in lavraki (bronzino, $39.95), monkfish ($29.95), or Aegean shrimp pasta ($32.95).

Meat dishes range from biftekia (Greek-style beef patty, $26.95) to lamb chops ($42.95) and a prime NY strip steak served with oven-roasted potatoes ($39.95).
