RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- New Jersey’s first female lieutenant governor will be speak before women voters in Ridgewood on Sept. 22.

The League of Women Voters of Ridgewood will feature New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno as the keynote speaker at its annual fall luncheon.

The event takes place from 12-2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept 22 at the Old Paramus Reformed Church, 660 E Glen Ave., Ridgewood.

Guadagno was sworn in as Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey on Jan. 19, 2010, and was elected to a second term in 2013. She also serves as the 33rd Secretary of State.

She made history in 2007 when she was elected as the first female sheriff in Monmouth County, a first in New Jersey. As sheriff, she managed a 650-member law enforcement agency encompassing the county jail, the county 911 communications center, and a law enforcement department of 100 men and women.

As Lieutenant Governor she oversees the promotion of the state’s $40 billion tourism industry, and administers programs related to the arts, culture, and history.

She is married with three children.
