RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J.– Nearly 100 members of the Ridgefield Park Moms Facebook group on Thursday watched a private screening of "Bad Moms" at the village's movie theater.
Each attendee received a "swag bag" – which included treats and giveaways from local businesses – courtesy of Ridgefield Park's Special Education Parent Advisory Council.
"We were humbled by the support from the local businesses and organizations," said the page's co-creator, Elaine Marin. "The group received over two dozen giveaway items, including gifts from the Ridgefield Park Library Staff and the Ridgefield Park Aftercare Program."
One of the page's members saw a post on the AMC Theater website advertising a prescreening of the film. She tagged RPM co-creator Joyce Essig-Bachtler, who contacted the theater.
Essig-Bachtler and Marin were overwhelmed by the response.
"It was such a great feeling to organize an event where, through the chuckles, you could just feel the camaraderie in the air," said Marin.
"In the end, we still ended up with a waiting list that we couldn't accommodate. So many moms wanted to get in on the fun," added Essig-Bachtler. "However, it really did end up being an amazing evening."
