Fair Lawn Recycling Division Seeks Volunteers For Litter Clean Up

FAIR LAWN, N.J.– Fair Lawn's Recycling Division is seeking volunteers for a litter clean up event on Sept. 17.

T-shirts and gloves will be provided to volunteers, who will receive lunch after the clean up. 

This event, which starts at 8:45 a.m., is eligible for community service hours for all church, temple, school or court mandated requirements.

Registration is required at least five days in advance. To sign up, call (201) 794-5341. 

By registering, the Recycling Division will be able to receive a head count and order enough food and provide enough transportation. 

Personal vehicles are not permitted to follow the caravan. 

Volunteers are asked to report to the recycling building at 20-05 Saddle River Road. 

Buses will leave at 9 a.m. The event will run until 12:30 p.m. 

Clothing requirements:

  • Long pants;
  • Closed toed shoes. 

Heels, sandals, and flip flops are not permitted. 

Long sleeve shirts are not mandatory but volunteers are encouraged to wear one. 

Work will be completed near traffic and in areas with poison ivy and/or sumac, according to the organization.
