Fast food fans in Warren County have waited long enough. A Popeyes and an Arby's are opening at 680 Memorial Pkwy. in Phillipsburg, at the site of a former Ahart supermarket. The Popeyes will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. while the Arby's will be opening on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Jersey Shore Restaurant Group (JSRG) purchased Breakers Kitchen & Tap on Route 9 in Waretown last year. And then there were none. New Jersey's last-standing Sears store, located in Jersey City, appears to be closing. The store at Newport Centre announced a store closing sale on Friday evening, Jan. 5 on Facebook. A voice answering service said the store was closed when Daily Voice called Friday at 7 p.m. Daily Voice has reached out to the Simon Property Group, who owns Newport Centre, and Sears corporate for comment. Nearly 50,000 massage guns sold at major retailers across the country are being recalled due to more than a dozen reports of overheating and a burn injury. TGI Fridays is closing nearly 30 "underperforming" locations across the northeast and will sell eight restaurants to the chain's former CEO, the chain said in a news release.
