An Alden Place student reported to school administrators Wednesday, Sept. 16, that while the student was walking to school, a man approached and attempted to grab the student. The state police did not indicate whether the student was a boy or a girl. State police were called shortly after 9 a.m.

That same day, troopers identified and interviewed the man involved, Maj. Robin H. Benziger, Troop K commander, said in a press release.

“At this point, there is no indication of any danger to students or staff and the allegations made by the student appear to be unsubstantiated,” Benziger said.

Troopers from the Poughkeepsie barracks, including members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, responded to the school and investigated the incident.
