The victim was shot outside his Moriches residence on Friday, Nov. 26, at about 1 a.m.

The man, Tyrell Durham, age 37, who resided at Tall Oaks Circle, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, Suffolk County Police said.

On Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 1, Suffolk County Police announced the arrest of Michael Gilbert, age 28, of Flanders.

He's been charged with second-degree murder, according to police.

Gilbert will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and arraigned on Thursday, Dec. 2 at First District Court in Central Islip, according to police.
