Popular Oradell dentist from Washington Township pulled from backyard swimming pool

EXCLUSIVE: A popular dentist from Washington Township was pulled from the bottom of his backyard swimming pool this afternoon and rushed to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood in grave condition.

Police received a frantic 911 call from Alan Mischel’s wife around 1:50 p.m. after she jumped in and pulled him out, responders told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

They found the Oradell dentist unresponsive, his skin blue, and conducted CPR, they said.

Mischel was taken from the President Road to the hospital with a police escort. His condition couldn’t immediately be determined.

Washington Township Police were assisted by the Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps and a paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital.
