PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- A Park Ridge gas station attendant said a gunman knocked him down, took cash from him and then sped off in a white BMW with black tape across the license plate, authorities said Tuesday.

The attendant at the Delta station on Kinderkamack Road told police the white robber was wearing a black ski mask and black clothing when he shoved him down, pointed a black handgun at him and demanded money around 8 p.m. Sunday.

The bandit then hopped into the waiting newer-model car, which fled west on Park Avenue, Capt. Joseph Rampolla said the attendant told them.

The attendant was treated at Hackensack University Medical Center for minor injuries, he said.

A Bergen County Sheriff's K-9 Unit responded along with borough police.

Rampolla asked that anyone who might have seen something or knows something that can help the investigation call Park Ridge Police Detective Michael Babcock: (201) 391-5401 ext. 5236. Or email MBabcock@ParkRidgePolice.com.
