PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- Joseph Cargulia, 90, of Park Ridge, died Sept. 29.
He was born June 5, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Mildred and August Cargulia.
He retired from Verizon after 30 years of dedicated service. During his retirement, he volunteered at the Mahwah Public Library and Darlington Golf Course. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Emily; children, Geralyn, Joanne Price (Daniel), Gerard (Laurie); grandchildren, Amanda, Joseph and Christina; and brother Guydon.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home, 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrott Road, West Nyack, N.Y. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Valley Hospice, 15 Essex Road, Paramus, NJ 07652 or the Alzheimer’s Association .
