WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. — Carol Alvarez (nee Childs), of Woodcliff Lake, died Sept. 20. She was 98.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., living in Elmwood Park and Mahwah before settling in Woodcliff Lake.
Alvarez worked as an executive secretary for the state in Paterson.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph and son Richard, and is survived by her daughter Susan Shannon and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were private.
