MONTVALE, N.J. – Anthony J. D’Avanzo, 84, of Montvale, died Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Before retiring, he was an accountant for Linde Co. for many years. He was a parishioner and usher at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Pascack Food Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean (neé Friel); children Catherine Kohlberger and her husband, Richard; Albert D’Avanzo and his wife, Marya; one sister; and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one sister and one brother.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Park Ridge. Entombment will take place in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
