No mail was damaged and delivery to street addresses will not be affected, officials said.
Post Office Box customers can pick up their mail at the Mahwah Carrier Annex on Industrial Avenue, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Ramsey and Saddle River post offices were suggested as alternatives by the USPS.
There was no timetable of when the post office would reopen as of Thursday afternoon.
