The author of the first book by a child of 9/11 is coming to Bergen County this week to talk about the consequences of opioid addiction. Little Ferry and Ridgefield Park police have partnered up to host Matthew Bocchi as part of their fight against the spreading opioid epidemic. NJ, NY, PA Among States Sharing Historic $4.3B Purdue Pharma Settlement
Oxycontin-maker Purdue Pharma has reached an historic $4.3 billion settlement with New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and a dozen other states that one attorney general said involved the “most that individuals have ever paid for breaking the law.” New Jersey expects to receive more than $110 million from the deal, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Matthew Toriello Of Westfield, 34, 'Rock-Star Uncle' Who Battled Addiction
Matthew T. Toriello, a lifelong Westfield resident, died Sunday. He was 34 years old. Family specifically requested that the circumstances of his death be shared with the public so others might feel less alone in their struggle. Matthew had been battling an addiction to opioids and was celebrating nine months of sobriety, during which he demonstrated strength and courage daily, loved ones said. Arresting dealers and users is only part of the fight against opioid addiction, said Passaic County Sheriff Richard H.
