Veteran Hasbrouck Heights Police Sergeant Retires

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Hasbrouck Heights Police Sgt. Nicholas Sisto has retired after 26 years in law enforcement.

Sisto began his career in 1990 with the NYPD before transferring to the borough three years later.

He erved several years as the D.A.R.E officer for the Corpus Christi School, where he was actively involved.

He also "combined his NYC police training, psychology degree and [borough] community training to diffuse several potential volatile situations," the department said.
