Oradell Fire Department Receives New Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus

ORADELL, N.J. -- Oradell firefighters recently received 29 self-contained breathing apparatuses acquired through FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters federal grant program.

The grant, which was supplemented with capital funding, enabled the fire department to purchase 29 of the devices at a cost of approximately $5,000 apiece.

The new equipment, which helps firefighters breathe and operate under hazardous conditions, will replace existing units that are over 20 years old.
