Man, Woman Arrested After Police Respond To Report Of Shots Fired At Long Island Motel

A man and woman were arrested after police responded to a report of shots fired at a Long Island motel.

Police were dispatched to the Meadowbrook Motor Lodge, located at 440 Jericho Turnpike in Jericho, on Monday, Nov. 18 at 8:55 p.m.

The report came after a male suspect who was observed in the parking lot with what appeared to be a handgun fired multiple shots in the direction of a nearby gas station, according to police.

No were injuries reported at scene. 

Upon police arrival, the suspect was seen running through the rear of the building with an adult woman, police said. 

These suspects, now identified as Vincent Tasso, 24, and Molly Dutrow, 25, both residing at the same address in Glen Head, were apprehended without further incident. 

During the investigation, it was found that Tasso was also the subject of a grand larceny that had occurred on Thursday, Nov. 14 in Hicksville and that Dutrow had an open NYS parole warrant.

Tasso was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and grand larceny. 

Dutrow was charged with violation of parole.

Both were arraigned on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at First District Court in Hempstead.
