Rochelle Park is preparing to apply for a grant from the Department of Environmental Protection to help fund the project, which will alleviate future erosion and help with flooding prevention, officials said.

“There was a pre-application conference with the (Department of Environmental Protection) so that they could provide us with more specifics on the technical data they needed for the application,” Borough Engineer Ken Job said during a Nov. 4 Township Council work session. “We will prepare the basic plans and environmental report needed for the project.”

The total cost of the project won't be determined until the state awards a grant, officials said.
