The man was found by Seaside Heights police about 3 a.m. in the 100 block of J Street, according to initial reports.
The victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds in his stomach and had to be intubated, an unconfirmed report said.
A medevac crew took the man to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Sheriff's Department CSI was notified.
About the same time, a woman entered Seaside Heights Police Headquarters with a severe cut. Police were trying to determine if the injuries were related.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
