Authorities have identified the 20-year-old man killed during a drive-by shooting on Sunday night in Ocean County.
At about 7:40 p.m, Lakewood police responded to reports of shots fired at 166 Tudor Court, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Lakewood Township Police Chief Gregory Meyer.
A 9-1-1 caller said that a man had collapsed in the middle of the road, Billhimer and Meyer said.
Responding patrol officers found Da'Jour Randolph, 20, of Little Egg Harbor, with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest, the prosecutor said.
Randolph was taken to Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, in Lakewood, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, they said.
His mother, Latoya posted a message filler with deep pain and sorrow on her Facebook page:
Billhimer and Meyer said there is no known danger to the public at this time.
They called it an active and ongoing investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
