Danielle Bowker also was charged with assault by auto in the fatal crash that occurred in Manchester Township on March 29, 2022, resulting in the deaths of Michael Sadis, 48, of Toms River, and Paul Lamberti, 58, also of Toms River, they said.

Lab tests later determined that Bowker had been actively using marijuana near the time of the fatal crash, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The four-car crash occurred at 7:15 a.m., near Whitesville Road and Route 571.

Bowker sustained minor injuries from the crash and was taken to Community Medical Center for treatment. A blood draw was taken from Bowker pursuant to a court-authorized warrant, the prosecutor said.

Upon reviewing the laboratory results of Bowker’s blood draw, a state expert rendered an opinion that at the time of the crash, Bowker’s faculties were impaired due to the effects of marijuana intoxication and that she could not safely operate a motor vehicle, the prosecutor said.

She was released from Ocean County Jail as a result of bail reform, Billhimer said.
