Two men from Ocean County have admitted to running a drug production facility, authorities said.

Jose Quintero-DeJesus, 37, of Brick Township, and Victor Mendoza-Gutierrez, 26, of Manchester, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to maintaining a controlled dangerous substance production facility, according to the Ocean County prosecutor.

When they are sentenced on Dec. 17, the State will be seeking a term of eight years New Jersey State Prison for each defendant, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billmyer said.

On May 13, 2020, at about 3:30 p.m., detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, along with members of the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, Northern Ocean County/Monmouth DEA Task Force, Manchester Township Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team, Brick Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit, and Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), executed warranted searches at homes in Brick Township and Manchester, Billhimer said.

Brick police, meanwhile, arrested Quintero-DeJesus during a motor vehicle stop.

Law enforcement seized firearms, about 1,050 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia indicative of distribution purposes, a high-end security system, and about $30,000 in cash, Billhimer said.

Quintero-DeJesus has been held in the Ocean County Jail since his arrest.  Mendoza-Gutierrez was charged on a summons and released pending future court appearances.
