The award comes on the heels of the high school performing extremely well on the W!SE program's Financial Literacy certification exam, the statement said.
W!SE is a New York City-based nonprofit agency that aims to provide high school students across the country with educational support services to build financial literacy, foster business and social entrepreneurship and prepare students for college and the global workplace, according to it's website.
PCTI achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the Financial Literacy Program's certification exam. According to officials, a 93 percent pass rate would have been exemplary. The school also received top accolades in the Large High School category, where it also was ranked number one, according to the statement.
The announcement was made at the W!SE Financial Ceremony held at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City in April.
Along with teachers and students, PCTI’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Officers Training Corps Color Guard was invited to conduct the Presentation of Colors at the event.
In a statement congratulating the high school, Passaic County Freeholder John Bartlett called the students' joint success an "amazing accomplishment."
