Teen brothers charged in 12-year-old South Jersey girl’s murder

Two brothers — one 15 and the other 17 — lured 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale to her death, strangling her in order to get parts from her bicycle, authorities said Tuesday.

Autumn’s body was found in a recycling bin blocks from her home after the boys’ mother called police after seeing something authorities characterized as disturbing on one of the teens’ Facebook page.

Her bicycle was found nearby, they said.

The FBI and New Jersey State Police joined local authorities in the search for the South Jersey girl. A reward was offered, and various photos were posted in the hope someone would see her.

Loved ones told police they last saw Autumn pedaling from her Clayton home, in Gloucester County, on her white, Odyssey BMX around 12:30 Saturday afternoon. They said they last heard from her in a text two hours later. She had blue eyes and blonde hair, was 5-foot-2 and weighed 120 pounds.

Autumn was wearing a yellow T-shirt with “Clayton Soccer” on the front, blue sweatpants and shorts, and blue high-top sneakers.

Police said she was carrying a light-colored cinch backpack, with “Reckless” printed on it.
