WANAQUE, N.J. – Whoever called in a false alarm at a Wanaque supermarket could face charges if caught, authorities said.
Police and firefighters rushed to the Stop & Shop on Union Avenue in Haskell Monday afternoon in response to a 911 call to a Pompton Lakes dispatcher of a “reported explosion, fire, smoke condition and evacuation of the store,” Capt. Kenneth Fackina said.
Fackina asked that anyone who may have noticed someone acting suspiciously at the store to call Detective Charles Sahanas: (973) 835-5600.
