RINGWOOD, N.J. — The SafeWise report recognized Ringwood among its 2015 list of "50 Safest Cities in New Jersey."
Ringwood came in at No. 27 on the list, which identified communities with a population of more than 10,000 people in 2013 and reported complete crime data to the FBI.
"Situated in the foothills of the New Jersey Ramapo Mountains, you’ll find the safe community of Ringwood. Covering nearly 30 square miles and loaded with parks and forest, Ringwood is a recreation enthusiast dream. Expansive communities are often hard to police, but that’s not a problem in Ringwood," SafeWise said in its report. "The community reported 90 crimes over the course of the year, which works out to be just four per day."
SafeWise reviewed the latest FBI Crime Report statistics, comparing the number of reported violent crimes (murder, robbery, rape, and aggravated assault) and property crimes (burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson) in each city.
